Safeguarding & Compliance

Our commitment to protecting the safety, dignity, and rights of every person we support

Our Statement

Safeguarding Statement

CareThrone Team is fully committed to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of all adults and young people in our care. We believe that protecting people from harm, abuse, and neglect is everyone's responsibility, and we take that responsibility seriously.

We recognise that people who use care and support services can be vulnerable, and that this places a particular duty of care on us as a provider. We do not take this lightly. Every member of our team, from front-line carers to management, understands their role in keeping the people we support safe.

Our safeguarding approach is informed by current legislation, including the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and relevant local authority safeguarding procedures. We work within multi-agency safeguarding frameworks and co-operate fully with statutory bodies, including local authority safeguarding teams and the police, when required.

Our Commitments

How We Keep People Safe

Safe Recruitment

All staff undergo enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks before employment. We verify references, qualifications, and right to work for every member of our team, without exception.

Safeguarding Training

All staff complete mandatory safeguarding training before starting work and refresh this training regularly. Our managers hold advanced safeguarding qualifications to ensure robust oversight at every level.

Reporting and Response

We have clear, documented procedures for reporting safeguarding concerns. All staff know what to do if they witness or suspect abuse, neglect, or exploitation, and they are supported to act without delay.

Mental Capacity & Consent

We always assume capacity unless there is evidence to the contrary. We make every effort to support people to make their own decisions, and we act in their best interests where capacity is assessed to be absent, in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

Data Protection & Privacy

We handle all personal and sensitive information in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Client information is held securely and shared only with those who have a legitimate need to know.

Complaints & Whistleblowing

We operate a transparent complaints process and a robust whistleblowing policy. Anyone, clients, families, or staff, can raise a concern confidentially, and all concerns are taken seriously and investigated promptly.

Legislative Framework

The Standards We Work To

Our policies and procedures are aligned with the following legislation and guidance:

Regulatory Registration

CareThrone Team is in the process of completing registration with the relevant regulatory body. We will update this page when registration is confirmed. In the meantime, we operate to the standards expected of registered providers and welcome enquiries from commissioners and local authorities.
